The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast

Each room at our bed and breakfast has its own special charm—it is difficult for us to tell you which room is our favorite because they all have things we love. Although the house was built in 1891, you’ll enjoy modern amenities from our recent guest room renovations. Here at The Chadwick Bed & Breakfast, we strive to provide the most comfortable lodging experience in Portland, Maine!

All rooms feature Full-Array LED Smart HDTVs with complimentary access to Netflix, HuluPlus, Amazon Prime Instant Video, and digital cable.

The Longfellow Room is one of our larger guest rooms, with a beautiful Ethan Allen built queen-size bed. Enjoy the cozy seating area with a cast-iron style electric fireplace and large turret windows that overlook the cityscape. This guest room offers a recently renovated and very spacious private en-suite bathroom with tile standing shower. It has been designed to spoil those who deserve to be.

The Abbott Room features a charming Ethan Allen built queen-size bed, a cozy reading space, a cast-iron style electric fireplace, and is one of the larger guest rooms. Warm romantic hues and garden views make this room very special. For those that like to sleep in, morning sun won’t wake you from the north-facing windows. With recent renovations completed, The Abbott Room now offers a contemporary private en-suite bathroom, a roomy new layout, and a tile shower with a sliding glass door. 

The most private of our rooms, The Baxter Room is the perfect retreat to unwind and leave your worries behind. Take in the beautiful garden views from your own outdoor balcony—large enough for two people to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Cross the private hall to your recently renovated private bathroom featuring a full-sized tile shower with sliding glass door. The Baxter also offers a beautiful Ethan Allen queen-size bed and a mantled electric fireplace. Being the smallest of our rooms, The Baxter is perfect for shorter stays.

The Chamberlain Room is spacious and graciously decorated in soft blue and taupe with bay windows overlooking Chadwick Street. Cozy up to the warm mantled electric fireplace on those chilly Maine evenings in your roomy Ethan Allen built king-size bed. The oversized leather chair and ottoman beckon you to sink in and enjoy a book or bottle of wine. Soft and luxurious terry-cloth robes are provided for you to cross the hall to your recently renovated private bathroom with full-sized tile shower featuring a sliding glass door.
