The Common Man Inn & Spa, formerly known as Plymouth Manufacturing, was a wood mill that produced birch wood products such as veneer, Popsicle sticks, tongue depressors, and paint stirrers. In January 2002 renovations began. Our interest was both to preserve some of the Mill’s history and to create a new use for an old building so as to avoid a commercial development. We began renovation immediately and opened our doors just 8 months later, on Labor Day of 2002, as home of the new Common Man Inn, Spa and Foster’s Steakhouse and Boiler Room Lounge.
