Kimpton Taconic

Grab some granola and write your name on your shirts because summer camp is just around the corner.  This season, Taconic in Manchester, Vermont, is introducing Kimpton’s Camp Taconic, an adults-only summer camp experience focused on the four elements: earth, wind, fire and water.

During the session from August 25-28, adults can release their inner child during a three-night camp by participating in activities including backcountry hiking, kayaking and tubing down the Battenkill River, kite-making, glassblowing and zip lining. And of course summer camp wouldn’t be complete without camp t-shirts and s’mores (and scotch) by the fire. The cost to attend Kimpton’s Camp Taconic is $1,400 for one person or $2,100 per couple, which includes accommodations for 3 nights and all meals and activities.

Your camp counselor will deliver trumpet bugle wake-up calls, “lights out” warnings, accompany campers on activities and lead the group in campfire sing-alongs. If you want to extend your camp experience for a “vacation from your vacation,” Kimpton’s Camp Taconic is offering extra nights and add-on activities such as Orvis Fly Fishing, Land Rover Driving Experience and more based on availability.

Kimpton’s Camp Taconic includes:

• Backcountry hikes in the Green Mountains & Taconic Range
• Meals at The Copper Grouse, a restaurant adjacent to Kimpton Taconic serving regionally-inspired, soulful dishes by Chef Adam Raftery, a Vermont native (some off-site meals will also be arranged)
• Morning sweat sessions with activities like yoga on the expansive lawn, running, and cardio at the state-of-the-art fitness center
• Ziplining or the Ropes course at Bromley’s Summer Adventure
• Make your own bowl or vase during a glassblowing class at Manchester Hot Glass
• Kayaking or tubing down the Battenkill River
• Learn to master the pit with alfresco BBQ lessons and dinner with Chef Adam Raftery
• S’mores, scotch and sing-alongs by the campfire
• Picnic lunch at Hildene, the Lincoln Family Home, and opportunity to bottle-feed baby goats
• Kite making and flying at the Southern Vermont Arts Center
