Rockport
A winter getaway in Massachusetts isn’t complete without a visit to this quaint beach town ideal for an intimate seaside winter escape. After a fresh layer of snow has fallen, explore the Twin Lighthouses on Thacher Island. Among the oldest of America’s lighthouses, the original 45-foot towers were constructed and lit in 1789. Today, two stout 124-foot granite towers stand tall and picturesque under the chilly winter sky.
If you’re looking to get in a little exercise, witness the coastal seascape from Halibut Point State Park. The peaceful view only looks better with a cool blue sky backdrop and pale white underfoot. End your day by warming up with one of our favorite winter activities in Rockport: a concert at the Shalin Liu Performance Center featuring some of today’s foremost musicians and ensembles overlooking the ocean. Rockport is just waiting to be explored this snowy season. Stay nearby to experience all this beachy town has to offer.
