Outlet Shopping in New England

Along with its sheer natural beauty and picturesque small towns, New England has many other attractions – one of the biggest being shopping. There are a number of popular places for outlet shopping in New England, but to help you find the best deals we've compiled a list of some of our favorite outlet locations in towns across the region.
Freeport Village Station

In the town of Freeport, Maine, you'll find Freeport Village Station, an outlet mall that combines New England charm with fantastic bargains. In this Maine outlet mall you'll find a great collection of stores, including Coach, Brooks Brothers, Izod, and that staple of New England style, L.L. Bean. Donning some fresh duds and cushy footwear, you can enjoy the rest of Freeport, including its famous lobster and seafood, and then relax in some of the great local accommodations, such as the luxurious Harraseeket Inn.

Manchester Designer Outlets

Nestled into the rolling hills of southern Vermont is the town of Manchester, where you'll find the Manchester Designer Outlets — a group of 40 premium outlet stores and restaurants, with brands like Armani, Ralph Lauren, Vineyard Vines, and Kate Spade. These Vermont shopping outlets are a great destination for the fashion-forward and the budget-conscious alike. And after you've shopped, you can “drop” at one of Manchester's many beautiful hotels and inns, like the classic Inn at Ormsby Hill or the fantastic Equinox Luxury Resort and Spa.

Lee Premium Outlets

Just east of Albany on the western end of Massachusetts sits the town of Lee, home to the Lee Premium Outlets. With a tremendous selection of premium Massachusetts outlets including well-known brands like Aeropostale, Reebok, Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, and dozens more, you'll be surprised with what you can find outside the formal confines of a suburban mall. The outlets also have an extensive food court and a number of specialty stores. There are also some great restaurants and a number of beautiful places to stay, like the lovely Devonfield Inn, just a mile from Main Street.

Tanger Outlet Center

Finally, we come to Westbrook, Connecticut, a charming seaside town on the northern side of Long Island Sound, and the location of the Tanger Outlet Center. This collection of more than 65 brand-name stores includes Eddie Bauer, J. Crew, Levi's, Hollister, and plenty of others. If you can't find it in this Connecticut outlet shopping destination, good luck finding it anywhere. Once you're finished, you can rest your feet in the cool Atlantic waters at the Water's Edge Resort and Spa, one of Long Island Sound's premier resorts.
